... the sun has shone, the trees are blossoming, I sold a story to TAB, and received a contributor copy of People's Friend for my story appearing in the issue dated May 9th.
I wish all weeks could be like this one!

What a lovely week you're having - I've got the sun and the tree in blossom - just need the sales now.
Congrats on your successes!
Congratulations. What a great week.
How nice to have such a lovely week - and congrats on the sales. I think the weather makes us all feel more cheerful anyway!
Glad your having a good one! Long may it continue.
Pity there's no edit button for comments, then I wouldn't have to post again to say that I do know there's a typo in my last post. Can't have you all thinking I'm illiterate!
Congratulations - a good week indeed!
I'm really pleased for you.Well done.
Congratulations on your stories and on the sunshine!
Oooh well done! Very envious though!
Well done, Womag.
Great confidence booster, Womag!
What a fantastic week. Good for you.
Congratulations Womag!
Weeks like that remind us why we do it! Enjoy.
Congratulations, Womag. It's nice to hear about someone having a really good week.
When your People's Friend story comes out, how long will it have been between acceptance and publication? And does anyone know if there a standard sort of time for PF? I've just sold to them for the first time, and I'd like to know how long I have to wait before I see my story! I was going to ask them, but ... you know. One doesn't like to pester!
Tara, they tend to keep them all on file until they want to use them which could be a couple of years. They don't seem to know in advance when things will be in.I waited fifteen months for mine and found out it was in when the complimentary copy arrived.
On the other hand, Tara, I had one accepted by them at the end of november which was in 18 April issue, and one accepted in January which is in the 2 May issue - both quite quick, really. So as Bernadette says, you just never know. Think of it as part of the excitement!
Congratulations on such a good week! Does anyone know how long it usually takes to hear from People's Friend after submitting stories? I sent two in early December but haven't heard anything. They were the first stories I had ever sent to a mag so I'm not sure what to think!
Thanks very much, Bernadette and Write Woman - so one just never knows!
Scrappy'smum, they had this story for five months before making a decision. The only other one I've sent to PF was rejected, and that took them only one month. So perhaps that shows that the longer they keep stories, the more cause for hope there is?
Thanks Tara, that gives me a bit more hope. Congrats on your story being accepted. How exciting!!
