Lake District

I promised a couple of photos of our Lake District holiday so here they are! Both photos are from the first day, when we had stunning weather. Rest of the week was overcast at best, wet and windy at worst, but that's to be expected.

Here's the view across forever - hubby and older son (14) sitting on the edge of the world.

And here's me and the boys on the way up to Stickle Tarn.

Wish I was back there now! The sheer joy of continuously putting one foot in front and slightly higher than the other is immense. My knees are less keen on the descent, but there's always a good old traditional pub waiting for you when you get back down to the valley.

Wow, what photos! It sounds like a wonderful holiday, no matter what the weather.

Great photos. I'm not sure climbing would involve any joy for me ... traditional pubs would though!

Envious? Moi?

No, no, that's not the lake District. I can see the sun shining.

You can't beat a good walk for relaxing the mind and if you put the Lakes on top of that you must be so chilled (if a little achy.)

I'm glad you enjoyed the Lakes. I wouldn't have believed you about the weather if I hadn't recently had some sunny days up in the Highlands. I'm a walker/mountaineer too. It's been a while since I visited the Lake District; I must go back there soon. Did Harrison Stickle and Pavey Ark (sp?) many years ago.

I've also been known to enjoy the odd pub or two.

I like odd pubs too, Captain. Much more interesting than Weatherspoons ;-)

Great pictures, womag. My knees wouldn't make the ascent, never mind the descent.

That looks so wonderful. And one good-weather day in the Lakes is pretty good.

We'll be there next month, staying near Keswick. Beautiful photos.

Enjoyed your photos! Pop over to mine for a look at one of my favourites from my own trip ...!
Still catching up on all the Blog news from while I was away. Well done on your recent successes! I was sad to hear that Best have stopped taking fiction - another market loss for us, and a loss to fiction readers too! But good to hear My Weekly are back in business for submissions. One a month is quite enough for me to be going on with! I prefer the longer length stories really, but will have another try at one for them!
