Could you write 100,000 words in 100 days? That's an average of just 1000 words a day, which isn't too daunting, is it? Sally Quilford is setting up a challenge to run from 1st January, for, well, 100 days of course! You can write anything to make up the 100,000 - a novel, two novellas, 100 short stories or articles -whatever you like.

Might have to give that a go.
Sounds tempting.
No.
LOL Frances, don't think I could, either! But will happily cheer on those who take the challenge.
Thanks womag! Frances LOL! I like a woman who knows what she doesn't want ;-)
I set a similar challenge to myself of 80k in 80 days. It works. I wrote a 77k novel when all the editing was done after another 40 days/nights.A goal sure keeps you focused, and I didn't go to bed before midnight for 120 days. Looked like hell but a novel was born.
I'm with Frances and Womanwriter on this - unless we are allowed to count all the drivel that I put in diaries, notes, letters, writing journals etc - but 1000 useful words a day that connect to the same 1000 words tomorrow - good luck! I'll make the tea.
What a cool challenge. When I'm writing, that's my goal. 1000 words a day.
Jo, you can split the words amongst novels, stories, articles and poetry, so you're not tied to writing one thing from the start.
Clarissa, yes me too. If I can do 1000 words or over I feel like I've had a good day. But I understand we're all different.
Hettie, that's brilliant! Well done!
I could probably manage it if we all agreed to going tee-total for the 100 days, as well:)
Sam
Yep, I can do that - I think ! Will give it a go (I can always change my mind later without feeling a failure... can't I ? ) ;)
Sam, going teetotal for 100 days? Now that's a big ask amongst writers ;-)
Lexia, glad to hear it!
