Edith's post is excellent. She quotes such good advice from seasoned short story writers such as Della Galton. I agree that if you feel in your heart that your story isn't right, then it probably isn't - don't send it.

I love that quote from the editor about a good short story bringing a smile to the face and a lump to the throat. It's exactly that I strive for when I write womag stories. It's a phrase to keep in mind I think, doesn't everyone else?
