People's Friend - new look pocket novels

The People's Friend blog announces a new look to their pocket novel range, launched today. The new format has an easier to read, larger font and more pages. I'll be off up to WHSmith on Saturday to check them out.

Just bought it.
The larger size font is good but I think there needs to be a little more space between the lines.

It's a great cover.

It would seem that the price has gone up to £2.99. Lyn Fountain

Lyn - I think that's because the book is longer, and includes pages of puzzles. Will buy tomorrow and report back.

I have just finished reading one of these - Where The Heart Is - for research purposes, and was appalled. Quite apart from being boring (which is my subjective view, I know)), it was badly written and poorly proofread - the main protagonist's name was changed more than once, for example. The dialogue was stilted and unbelievable, the characters two-dimensional and cliched. Several interesting sub-plots disappeared into the ether while the ending seems to have been plucked out of the air when the author realised that she was nearing her word count, about 2 pages before the end.
