Take A Break Fiction Feast update

If you're still waiting for replies from TAB for work sent in July, be patient for just a little bit longer. Replies are being sent out. You can even be optimistic – I got a yes to one of mine yesterday! I believe the longer than usual response time is due to iffice renovations.

As previously mentioned, a short synopsis is now required (put this under the title on submissions). One reason for this is to help those who produce story illustrations. Because of that, you might like to give an indication of character's ages, the story location, and any important visual details. E.g. if the bride's dress is purple...

p.s. Less than a week left to take part in the survey. Please do 'vote' if you haven't already.

  1. Damn - I did read about the synopsis but when I sent one off to TABFF last week, I forgot all about it.

  3. Sent a story in a week or so ago. I didn't know the synopsis rule was in place already - I know it was mentioned on here a week or two ago, but only that it was coming soon.

Oh well, never mind, mine's pretty unabiguous from the title, anyway.

  4. Well done on the sale, Patsy. Lovely photo, too. Thanks for the advice. I'll have to put a sticker on my PC Screen to remind me to provide a synopsis. Good wishes Kate Hogan

  5. For stories sent before this new requirement came in, Norah is asking for the synopsis to be added when the stories are emailed in, so I expect that will be OK too for those where people forgot to do it at submission.

  7. Are writers allowed to email submissions into Take A Break now? I thought it was only postal submissions. If we are allowed to email, could you please tell me the email address? Thank you and best wishes, Janice Sadler

  8. Hi Patsy,
Sorry about my previous comment. I now understand what you mean by emailing the stories in. When they're accepted... Thanks, Janice

  11. I still haven't had an answer on a story they've had of mine since early august 2016. When I queried in November they said it was under consideration. But nothing since. I've tried emailing them again using the email address they replied to me with in November but zilch (it had 'temp' in the address so perhaps not surprising) Anyone know of an email address I can use or do I just give up and assume they don't want it and submit elsewhere. It was an Xmas story so needs to go out about now.
