Congratulations! Although I ve just had a return from Irelands Own, they did write me a lovely message. They said they liked my story and it was well written, but they are overly stocked with short stories at the moment. I ve submitted a couple to them before but never received a rely so I was pleased to get a response.
Congrats - I’m still waiting for an acceptance from PF, they got four of my stories currently. Do you know who best person to enquire about a short story I submitted back in October and an email as I posted it I’m not even sure it got there!

@ Chris – IO don't usually send rejections, so if they took the trouble to say they liked your writing you can be certain they mean it.
@ Charlie – TPF replies are taking longer than usual at the moment, but I'd have expected you to have heard about one sent last October. The email for queries is peoplesfriend@dcthomson.co.uk Just address it to 'the fiction team'.

@charlie- I submitted to TPF last August and had a reply in May. I have another in since December that I m waiting to hear back on. Things taking a little longer at the moment I m guessing- Good luck!
