Woman's Weekly

I've just heard from Woman's Weekly (via Jo Styles) that they have a bit of a backlog of submissions at the moment. This is due to people being away, all the workshops they're now doing and Live! which has just finished for this year. They hope to catch up soon.

I was wondering if I should chase up one of mine. Think i'll leave it a bit longer then!

You're welcome, Teresa.

Anonymous, if it's just been a few weeks then yes, I'd hold on a little longer.

Hi Patsy, thank you for that. Now I know why I haven't received any reject.... oops news on my stories :) Hope all is well! Have a great week!

Good news, putting off the bad news a little longer

Will wait a bit longer to hear about a story I sent them a short while ago. Probably a rejection.

Thank you so much for posting this. I'd noticed the delay and started writing an Oscar style acceptance speech in my head '...I'd like to thank womagwriter...the Post Office...Ryman's' Clearly it's just the backlog delaying the inevitable.

Best of luck to everyone else.

Thanks for the update. It's difficult when you sometimes have to wait so long to find out whether it's yes or no, so knowing there's a delay helps.

Thanks, Patsy. I'll give them plenty of time to get all the rejections and acceptances out before I submit anything new. They've only one of mine at the moment, which I'm not particularly hanging my hopes on! Hope you have a good weekend. Good wishes KH

@ Nicola - there's nothing like a positive attitude!

@ Jihn D - that's one way of looking at it.

@ Julie - might not be. I think if they'd made a decision they'd have told you.

@ Loopers - I hope you're going to need that speech.

@ Carol - It helps to know it's just because they're busy and not because ours has got lost somewhere.

@ KH - If you know it's not going to get read for a little while it gives you the chance to give it an extra polish and improve your chances.
