Any luck?

I have a story in the current (May!) issue of Woman's Weekly Fiction Special - and I'm delighted to be issue buddies with several of my writing friends.

My story is about a lucky red pen. One of those wouldn't help me as I do nearly all my writing straight onto the laptop, but when I submitted work by post, I tried to use lucky postboxes to drop them into. Sometimes it worked!

Do you have anything which you consider lucky or helpful when it comes to your writing?

Whenever I have a story to post I let my four year old son put it in the box. I lift him up, he says 'Good Luck' to the envelope and then posts it. I'm not sure whether this helps or not, but it's always a nice touch :o)

There's a post box a little way away from where I live, but what I normally pass when I am walking the dog. I consider that quite a lucky post box, as I've had quite a few acceptances with it (or maybe it's taking the dog out for a walk that is lucky! :) )

A great story, Patsy! Loved the lucky pen idea and the different voices. I can't recall ever having a particularly lucky item.

@ Lisa - that's really sweet and I can't see how it could harm your chances.

@Kitty - could be either bringing the luck - better keep walking that route with your dog.

@ Rosemary - thank you, I'm glad you liked it. I'm looking forward to reading yours.
