News from the world of women's magazine fiction.
Thank you so much for this site! I've just started writing short stories and am about to submit my first one to a woman's magazine. I'm look forward to the fiction writing hashtag tomorrow night on Twitter. Sorry to ask you this but I have a general question that I can't seem to find the answer to on Google. When I send off my short story, should I include a cover letter, or just the flysheet with the information they request? Thank you for any help you can give me x
Hi Anonymous,Unless the quidelines say otherwise, it's fine to send either a covering letter, or a fly sheet giving your contact details and any other requested information. You don't need both. It's a good idea to include your name as a header or footer too, just in case the letter or fly sheet get seperated from the story.
If you are commenting anonymously PLEASE give yourself a nickname, number or initials. With so many people unwilling to use their own name it gets really confusing if there isn't some way to differentiate between you all.
