I've been asked about payments from Woman's Weekly as for some people these haven't arrived when expected. Don't panic! It's simply that these are now being made on publication, not acceptance as used to be the case.
Once your story has been scheduled (which might be quite a while after acceptance) you should get something through from Desknet and this will give the publication date. Payment will be made in the usual way shortly afterwards.

Thank you, Patsy.

That was exactly the system we had up and running before we left, Patsy. It's not new.
@ Alyson - glad to help.
@ Clare - WW used to pay very quickly at one time. I've checked my records and payments typically came within two or three weeks of acceptance. That changed not long before the big shake up, but not everyone realised (or perhaps has forgotten). With each magazine having different rules, and many people only making intermittent sales, it can be hard to keep track.
Yes, it was SO much simpler in the good old days! Much quicker, too. For us as well as the writers. We did send a letter out to inform everyone at the time and I thought it was mentioned on here, too, but I agree, it's no bad thing to remind people!
