Thanks for this, Patsy. I had searched in vain for specific word counts for the new mag, so this is really helpful. Cheers.
Thank you. Very useful!
Good to know, thank you.
I though we wrote a synopsis for the stories in the fiction special, but there's no mention of it here.
Just had my first ever story accepted after years of rejections and it’s from yours fiction special - I can’t stop smiling!!!! It’s an amazing feeling
@ Chris, Jenny and Carrie – glad they're useful.
@ Sharon – That hadn't occurred to me. They definitely said they wanted one last time they gave any guidelines. I'll be pleased if they dropped that as they're no fun.
@ Charlie – Many congratulations! You're right, it's a good feeling, especially the first time.
Congratulations, Charlie, you must be absolutely buzzing. That first sale is always a brilliant feeling. I am sending you a socially distanced bottle of imaginary champagne to celebrate! Tell us the title of the story so we can look out for it, please.
I am and thank you 😊 And it’s a ghostly story out in the august issue - soooo excited!!!
Me too red the synopsis as I agree, no fun! Be good if we could get clarification on that. Thanks again, Patsy.

@ Unknown – Thanks for the link. The piece is dated February this year, so I'm unsure if the guidelines in the latest issue supersede them.
To be honest, I find most of their guidelines confusing! In some places they say to put the publication title in the subject line, in others to use the editor's name, and they regularly contradict each other with regard to the required lengths.
