Seven Days

The new womag Seven Days is out now – and I'm delighted to say that I have a story in the first issue and several readers of this blog have also had stories accepted.

I do hope that as many of you as possible will consider buying an issue, subscribing and/or spreading the word about this publication to those who might be interested in reading it. Editors can only buy our stories if enough people by the magazines.

Along with my story they published a mini bio and mentioned my romance novel, Escape to the Country

Isn't this illustration great? Until you've read the story you'll have to take my word for it that it's perfect for the story.

Well done Patsy. I am somewhat surprised at the lack of marketing for this new magazine. Womagwriter has been the only source to mention it.

Very much looking forward to reading the magazine and your story. The magazine hasn't reached my village, but I'm going to head into town later in the week and will pick up a copy there.

Great - I'll look for that when I'm shopping tomorrow

Just been to my local Tescos which did not have it in stock, although sometimes magazines take an extra day to arrive from UK. I will try some of the bigger book shops tomorrow hopefully it will be there, really looking forward to reading.

Congratulations Patsy, it wasn't available in our Tesco this morning.

I wonder whether it will make its way out to Australia? I hope so.

Well done, Patsy, Alyson, and everyone else who's had acceptances.

It's really good to see a new womag out there.

Great news Patsy. Not bought a copy as currently on holiday abroad. Are they paying for anything other than fiction? Such as letters or real life stories. Thanks in advance.

Got a copy this morning, very reasonably priced too. Lovely story & accompanying illustration Patsy. Well done again, great to have made the very first copy & got a bit of advertising as well. Also enjoyed the other story by ME Gardner, not sure if its one of our own here, a little different too.

Congrats on your story, Patsy. Will look out for it and buy a copy. Great to have a new mag taking fiction. Linda

Thanks everyone!

Due to being on my travels I've not yet seen a copy, so I can't tell you much more about it yet – but I believe that it contains more than one piece of fiction and is available from ASDA, Tesco and Sainsbury's supermarkets as well as being on Readly.

Good news that Sevendays is up and running. And congratulations to people who've had acceptances from them. I've just had an email from Jo Derrick at The Yellow Room (I'd submitted a story), explaining that for various reasons, she won't be going ahead with the relaunch. This is so disappointing for her and for would-be contributors.

How very special to have a story in the very first issue of a new magazine - congratulations, Patsy! And congrats to all those who have received acceptances.I look forward to seeing Seven Days - a thriving womag world is good news for writers and readers (and the industry as a whole, surely). I'm sorry to learn that The Yellow Room is not to relaunch after all - perhaps this will go ahead at a later date?

I too, have had the email from Jo Derek.
I'd be surprised if it does go ahead at a later date Erin, as she explained it was down to a lack of people taking out subscriptions. I thought there was something amiss, as there was no website or updates on SM.
You can get free websites with template now so I wondered why there wasn't a website. It's disappointing, when so many people have sent in work in good faith.
When launching e- mags it's best to view it as hobby, a labour of love, rather than a money making enterprise. I know, I've done it!

Just read your story Patsy. Loved it and, as you say, the illustration is perfect. The new mag has a nice feel to it. I hope it succeeds.

Finally got hold of a copy of SevenDays, your story is beautiful Patsy, in fact I've read it more than once just to savour every word.

I am also very impressed by the magazine, if feels lovely and the content is varied and interesting.

I wonder if anyone can help - I had a story in SevenDays but thought the number by the bar code was the issn - it isn't. Does anyone know how I can find it? Googled to no avail. Want to add to my ALCS claim. Sorry if I am being a bit dim! Thanks for advice.
