I don't know very much about this magazine, except that they're Danish and have rejected everything I've sent them! They have sent rejections though rather than stating they don't accept submissions, so I keep trying now and again.
Requests for guidelines have recieved no response. I've been told they're on the website, but even using Google translate I couldn't find them. I believe they like stories of around 3,000 words. The email address I use is - serner (at) hjemmet.dk
I'd appreciate any information anyone else has.
I asked my husband for a photo of me in Denmark to illustrate this post. Considering he's a professional photographer I don't think it's that great. Either he thinks I need soft focus or he was focussing on something other than my lovely face!

Certainly prefer the living one, can't cuddle stone. And well done you for persevering with these bad mannered magazine people.
Strange. I stared at that photo for five minutes and never noticed you were in it.
Thanks for the mag info. I'll give them a try.
@ Carole - yeah I reckon he'd rather cuddle me really.
Not sure the magazine people are bad mannered - just busy and so swamped with subs they don't need to encourge more.
@ Keth - tchh or tut or one of those sorts of comments.
Never heard of them? Will ask around and see if anyone has any information.
Thanks for the info, Patsy - the photo says more about the OH than you!
@ Maria - thanks!
@ Rosemary - it does. It says he's in soooo much trouble.
Ah, now I did actually find the fiction guidelines for this magazine. I stored them somewhere on my computer, but where? If I find them again I'll let you have them.
@ Jacula - that'd be brilliant if you can.
Hi Patsy
I contacted this magazine some time ago. I've copied below the response they sent me. I did send them two stories and hoped for some feedback but never heard from them again!
Dear Kath,
Our short stories usually are approx. 3 000 words and romantic- or suspense stories. We don’t have any written guidelines, but if you send me something you have written
I give you feedback when I have read it. You can send it to sara.hemmel@egmont.se
Look forward to hear from you!
All the best,
Sara Hemmel
Fiction editor
Hemmets Journal
Thanks - that's helpful.
I've had feedback from them. It said 'I'm turning this one down.'!
The fiction editor is now Eva Sterner. I got her details by private messaging the magazine through their FB page. I sent an email enquiry to her yesterday but it bounced back. So I PMed them again and they suggested sending it as a general enquiry to red@hjemmet.dk and hopefully they would forward it to her. So far I haven't hear back. I kind of don't expect I will.
Sorry, Eva Serner.
Thaks, Geraldine.
