A slight change

Just to say that I've set up comment moderation on the blog. That's not because I wish to restrict or censor comments here – quite the opposite. It's just because I've been getting a lot of spam; far more than the number of genuine comments. It's time consuming and extremely disheatrening to click on what I hope is a message to do with womagwriting and discovering it's an advert for viagra, or link to a scam or offensive site, which I need to delete as quickly as possible.

Please be assured that any genuine comments will be approved, whether or not they reflect my personal views. In taking over this blog it was my intention to provide a resource to benefit and support all womagwriters and I very much appreciate those people who support this blog in return by leaving comments, providing information or contributing guest posts.

I'm sure, like me, so many of us very much appreciate all the hard work and effort that goes into running this blog Patsy.

It's the 'go to' place for information and I don't know what we'd do without you.

I'm so sorry you're having all this aggro with the comments. Putting a comment moderation on is very sensible. xx

I second what Sue has said above, Patsy. Really appreciate this blog running. I refer to the magazine guidelines frequently.

It's been a bit of a nuisance at times on mine, Patsy, so I don't blame you at all!

Thank you for all you do, Patsy.

Thanks from me too, though I realise I'm now just adding to your moderating workload!

Thanks for your comments!

The spam seems to come in waves. Something must allow it, or prevent it coming through at times, but I've no idea what.

@ Bubble – don't worry about that. It isn't any trouble to click on the 'publish'button (or the 'mark as spam' one when required). The only snag is that when I can't get online for a while, there will be a delay before comments appear. On the whole, I think that's better than leaving the nasty spam ones visible.

This is quite understandable, Patsy! I do the same thing with my blog. And I echo everyone else's thanks for your kindness in keeping us informed.
