End of year party!

Welcome to the end of year party!

Everyone is welcome. All food is calorie and allergen free, the drink won't give you a headache and nobody will take embarrassing
 photos to post online.

To join in all you have to do is say what you're bringing – food, drink, jokes, games, news, reflections on 2022, hopes for 2023 ...

I'm hoping to continue writing stories both long and short whilst travelling in the mobile writing retreat (aka campervan).

A few more sales would be nice...

Wishing everyone who has contributed to this blog, by commenting and/or providing information, happiness in the year ahead.

Cheers!

As always –

New blog posts are published each Saturday. All blog readers are welcome to use the comment section to share writing news, tips, successes, links to competitions and other publication opportunities, to ask questions and to respond to comments from others.

Those cup cakes that look like mini Christmas puddings were delicious - thank you, Patsy :) I've brought along some of my cold Christmas dinner - my traditional for the past umpteen years - leek, mushroom and white wine pie. (Don't worry, it's been in the freezer.) I've cut it up small because we'll need a bit of savoury with all the sweet...,. I've also brought some of my homemade blackberry wine (lethal!) and a large slab of white chocolate. I am also collecting as much hope as possible for 2023 and distributing it freely to all :) Have a very happy New Year!

I have the Hogmanay pot of ham and lentil soup simmering away and the steak pie ready to see out the old year and welcome in the new one with a wee dram and/or glass of bubbly. You are all welcome to share. Please bring along a tall, dark and handsome first foot or a lump of coal for good luck!

I hope everyone has a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

I'll take anything with chocolate, thanks. I bring the few Langues du Chat which remain from a gift from Betty's. Yorkshire folk will know this brand well. I appreciate all the information and advice which is posted on this site. Wishing you all a happy, healthy, peaceful and successful year.

I hope to have more short stories accepted for anthologies. I also hope to publish the start of a new children's series and a journal to go with my memoir.

I will be bringing along the hopes of a returned mojo in 2023, having written virtually nothing in 2022, for various reasons, the biggest being disillusionment. So I will be reading more widely and giving more focus in the hope of creating more words!
Thank you for all the news and advice in 2022 and a very happy new year to you all xx

Ooh what a varied feast!
My contribution should be the rest of a giant chocolate fish - delicious - but there’s not much left as I’ve been nibbling while working on my last submission for this year. (American mag, beer themed poetry - I like a challenge!)
My womag writing hasn’t been great in 2022 but short stories and poems elsewhere have done really well - many through your blog Patsy - so hope to continue that in the new year. Wishing all of you the best for 2023.

I'm bringing lots of spiced mulled cider from 'the orchard county', where I live. All the festive flavour but lighter than mulled wine - not so syrupy. Slainte. Wishing everyone a great year ahead with much writing success. See you all next year!

Ooh a veritable feast, not sure what I can add to it. Maybe some local Richmont elderflower cordial as a mixer & some lovely Torc chocolates to serve with Irish coffees. At midnight I shall raise a glass to you all & wish you all much writing success in 2023, it's been my privilege to count you as my long distance writing buddies, long may it continue. Sainte.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Sorry for not responding. We went away in the van for New Year then had to cut the trip short and cancel a visit to friends we've not seen in far too long, so I could come home for emergency dental treatment!

I'm still sore, but improving.
