Woman's Weekly new payment system

Those of you who write for Woman's Weekly will probably have had emails about their new 'comissioning' and payment system - desknet. I have and I think I managed to change my password correctly,  but as I haven't sold them anything since, I've not tried using the system.

Have you had the emails? Changed your password? Requested a payment?

(If you've not yet sold to WW so don't know what I'm on about, don't panic. I'm sure it'll be just fine once we all get the hang of it.)

Update - More info here.

It's one I'm still hoping to be published in eventually - if I get down to writing more short stories!

Hi - yes i've done the deed and filled in, signed, and scanned my payment details. I was assuming, though, that now as I've done that any payments would be made automatically. Obviously I've gotten it wrong! Back to the drawing board, I guess. I haven't even read how to upload my work yet. Good wishes Kate Hogan

I don't think we need to upload short stories. Someone on FB said we just email them to Clare in the usual way so that's what I did with my most recent one and it was acknowledged, same as usual. Somebody else has since said that we also still need to send in an invoice if successful - so the only difference, I suppose, is that payments might go straight into our bank accounts now.

I've subbed as normal too and haven't been told not to keep on with that, so I'm assuming it's the right thing to do.

Desknet is really only applicable to journalists. Short stories don't get commissioned unlike journalistic pieces therefore we just send our stories to Clare as usual. The only thing we fiction writers need to do is fill in the form that requests our bank details and email that to the address on the bottom of the page as a scanned attachment.

We don't have to use Desknet then? Very glad about that. I did actually think it was more a tool for journalists. Glad it's not for me. Thanks for the advice, Kitty, Patsy and Geraldine - much appreciated. Good wishes Kate Hogan

Sometimes, the vendor’s bank provides the instrumentation, permitting a group action to travel straight to a company’s bank. Most of the time, though, a 3rd party are going to be used for bourgeois process. These third parties take the mastercard info on the customer’s behalf through elaborately secured ways and pass it to the seller or the vendor’s bank. These corporations ar intermediaries UN agency use engineering to secure the information provided by the client. Some on-line services provide a vendor’s computing device a kind page during which the client would be needed to enter mastercard info. the cardboard process company would then move with the mastercard company with reference to the group action. The payment would then be transferred to the vendor’s account on their behalf, once deducting some fee for rendering the services.

Anyone who sells to WW will need to use desknet in order to get paid - but not to submit work. Don't panic - it's nowhere near as scary as it seems at first.
