Survey results

The results of the survey are –

I write womag fiction and have had some published.
  130 (62%)

I write and submit womag fiction, but haven't had anything published - yet.
  36 (17%)

I'd like to write and submit womag fiction
  28 (13%)

Other

  13 (6%)

Total who voted – 207

Not everyone with an interest in womag fiction will have taken part in the survey, so I think it's fair to assume there are quite a few more of us.

Do the results surprise you?

Not a surprise really. I imagine that most people who read the blog have an interest in writing for Woman's magazines.

The question really, is what are the 'others'? Stalkers... wannabees... ooh I feel a story coming on.

I'm not surprised that most of my blog readers either write for the womags or would like to, but I am very surprised there are more than 200 of them.

I'm surprised at the high percentage of acceptances. I've been writing for this market since 2013 but have only had 2 published. However, nothing could stop me writing anyway; I just love words. John D

Not too surprised at the results but interesting to see how many are writing for magazines who read this blog!

@ Alyson - They might all have selected that option for a different reason!

@ John - Although some writers are likely to have sold lots of stories, there may well be lots of others who, like you, have so far only placed a few.

@Rosemary - Yes, it's interesting.

I was one of the 'others', so not a stalker. :D

I am still at the stage of trying, and those I've submitted have been rejects, but as it's not my main writing interest, 'others' was the nearest fit. :)

Not truly surprised... but nice to see, isn't it, that although writing is often competitive writers at any stage feel included. Would go so far as to say that writers are a most inclusive bunch!

I am one who has submitted but not been accepted yet. Not giving up though. Jean.f

This was the first blog I read back in the day when I was just thinking about writing stories for magazines. So in different years I would have ticked different boxes. No not surprised by the result.
