Double Swedish

I have two stories in this week's edition of Allas Magazine.

One involves a girl and a female estate agent.

The other is a twist ending story which, as soon as it was accepted, I wondered how they'd illustrate. Sadly, because I love their illustrations, they've decided not to. I really can't blame them for that.

How is your Swedish coming along? I reckon that after all my mentions of this magazine, you'll be able to translate this title.

I like the art work, it's kinda quirky, and so different to what we have here in the UK.
Congratulations on your Swedish successes.

Congratulations on your stories. My Swedish is coming along nicely as two of my grandchildren live there, although their English is better than my Swedish!

What a way to learn Swedish, reading your own stories! Congratulations!

Congratulations on story publication - and the illustrations look great!
The title looks as if it would make sense in English (although would be wary of 'false friends' i.e. words which look familiar, yet might have a somewhat different meaning!)
I like Melvyn Bragg's tale of an official visit to (I think) Denmark, where he was shocked to hear VIPs 'swearing' freely. Turned out that these same words had suffered a sharp lowering of status as they'd crossed the sea to Cumbria with the Vikings in the long distant past. In Denmark, they remained perfectly respectable!

Still, I'm sure no bad words were involved in your mag. story :-)

Well done on the publications, Patsy - love the illustrations. Were the stories 'first rights'? Good wishes KH

Excellent - they look great in this magazine. Were they published here too, Patsy?

Congratulations on the stories. I like the illustration, but for a short translation there's always Google. :-)

Congratulations on your stories, Patsy! Love the illustrations. Did you have to wait long for the stories to be published - and do they always send you copies? I have sold several stories to Allas and have usually received a mag within a few months. But, I have never heard anything about a story I sold them in July 2015 and another in May 2016. Keep up the good work (and the Swedish lessons).

Congratulations, Helen. The two stories I subbed them last October were never heard of again!

I meant Patsy... sorry!

Yes, I've sold them a couple. Also had a few quick rejections, but for some I've heard nothing - hard to know if they're under consideration or have just disappeared under the deluge of submissions! Good wishes KH
